Looking young
“Ehhh, you really don’t look like 28! You look more like 23 or 24 years old!”
This is the most common response I get from a new friend/colleague. It’s been going on for a long time that I kinda get sick of it. When I was 25, some say that I look like 20 or 21. Even a stewardess from Malaysian Airlines thought that I was 19 years old. She even wanted to give me that stupid crayon book. *slaps forehead*
It’s not that I didn’t like the compliment, I hate it when people perceive me as someone who is naïve and have not experienced enough. They tend to question me things that I probably knew when I was in primary school. Duh! Like I don’t know! Sometimes, I’m not even being treated like an adult. And my kakis are about 3-7 years younger than me but i still try to blend into the group so that they don’t feel the large gap. Or maybe i really act like a 20 year old girl.
Just yesterday, one of my colleague was shocked to know that i'm older than him. He's 1 year younger and he thought that i'm much younger than him. Then he said that i have a babyface. OK OK...I see this as a compliment. What else can i say right?
Another disadvantage is that I’m ‘not allowed’ to join the topic about sex or marriage. Oh ya, I forgot! I’m too naïve for all that isn’t it? To all those who think of me that way – don’t make me turn into a fierce cat. I'll scratch all your face, then you know...
It sucks doesn’t it? To look young is not always a good thing afterall…But at least i don't have any wrinkles on my face yet...hehee..
