The longest journey home...

Just a few hrs ago there was a train delay that started somewhere from Raffles Place up to Queenstown. I was on my way home from work at that time. I can’t help but noticed many commuters became very impatient when they hear the announcements repeatedly. After several delays and the long wait, everyone was told to alight at Queenstown station because the trains will all turn back to Pasir Ris. At first I thought that it was due to some technical issue but I doubt so. It could be an accident that might happen on the tracks.

Anyway, as soon as I alighted, I saw hundreds of people waiting to board the next train. So, I decided to wait as well. Then there was another announcement from the station that we had to take the bus home. I knew I couldn’t get a cab home, so decided to just grab any bus that comes. There are just too many people and the weirdest thing is that these people were all standing in the bus bay and some even in the middle of the road. I think these people are insane. Just because there are hundreds of people waiting for the bus, it does not mean that they can stand anywhere they want. And when I see these people rushing and pushing to get on the bus, I thought I just back off and wait for the next bus.

These pics were taken secretly with my O2, that is why I couldn't get the whole crowd in the pics. hehee...Anyway, many people have either boarded the bus home or called the cabs. So lesser crowd...

After waiting like almost 45 mins at the bustop, there came about 4-5 TIBS buses labeled ‘MRT SHUTTLE’. It’s free so why not right? So I had a free ride to Jurong East station and continued to take the train from there. While I was in the shuttle bus, I overheard the bus driver saying that there was a suicide at Clementi station. I have no idea where he got that news. Let’s just wait for the news tomorrow. Anyway, when we went past Clementi station I saw 4 police cars lined up at the side of the road. Hmm…it made me so curious.

The worst part is that it took me almost 3 solid hours to get home. I need my sleep man! Badly!

Headache...

Yah, I'm really having a headache at the moment. Maybe after playing too many computer games today at eddiezone. I'm addicted by the way.

And again another weird encounter at the National Library yesterday. Someone took a picture of me while I was sitting on the floor...alone! It was about 4.40pm at that time. I made a report to the staff but the culprit disappeared in a flash. Just my luck. By the way, did anyone remember the guy who kicked me at Woodlands Library? Sigh! Why am I cursed this way? This is so not fair.

And I'm home alone since yesterday. My parents have gone to Malaysia with my grandfather, uncle, aunty & cousins to visit my relatives at my kampung in Pontian, Johor. Staying home alone is so boring. I was supposed to finish up my assignment but turns out that the school does not want to accept it. Ok, ok it's due for submission but it's not too far away from the deadline. I'll be given new questions so my research yesterday have gone to waste. So, I thought I should've followed my parents but now it's too late.

Well, at least today my sista decided to drop by at my place and spent a few hours with me in the afternoon. I just love to look at her cute tummy. She's 6 1/2 mths pregnant now and she's really happy. I can see it in her eyes. How will I look like if I'm pregnant eh? Kiut ke miut?

Let's make peace...

Finally, I get to go on long leave. I desperately need this. I’m so stressed up at work. The targets are making me go crazy. The thing is I only manage to hit 1 out of 6 targets. That’s so so unacceptable. If only I didn’t have to clear my leave, I’d have at least hit 4 targets. Haiz… No wonder I've been having nightmares lately. Must be the stress. I need help! :(

Anyway, I was chatting with one of my colleagues the other day. I find her very knowledgeable and open about certain issues and I felt comfortable discussing these things with her. The world needs more people like her to make peace and also care for animals. She’s about 6 yrs younger than I am and I find her different from anyone I’ve ever met. Well, we were talking about the war and how much we hated it. However, world peace is rather impossible and there’s nothing we can do. Sad isn’t it? Let's pray for a better tomorrow and the future ahead. And may God answer to our prayers.

I also recall the final meet-up last week with a maldivian/sri lankan friend, M, whom I’ll never see again because he’ll be going back to his hometown. He gave H and I a final dinner treat. Well, free food is always delicious ah. Haha. He also wanted treat us to a movie and coffee but H refused. I can understand why. He is secretly admiring my friend, H, so movie is definitely a wrong choice. Better be safe than sorry right! But H and I ended up at Ben & Jerry’s @ Cathay till 11pm, talking crap over a bowl of ice cream. We even planned for a trip together. I wonder if it’ll happen. Hopefully…

The fasting month is almost ending and I wished it wouldn’t end so soon. Really! I set myself a target but I’m disappointed with myself for not accomplishing it. Work is always a hindrance coz by the time I reached home, I’d have missed the tarawih with my parents. I hope to have a fruitful Ramadhan next year. Insyaallah.

It's past midnight now and I desperately need to sleep. G'nite peeps!

The Road to Guantanamo

Finally I managed to spare some time last week to watch ‘The Road to Guantanamo’ on DVD. This film is basically about three British citizens, called ‘The Tipton Three’, who were captured by the US military after crossing over to Afghanistan. They were on their way to Pakistan for a holiday cum wedding celebration in Sept 2001. They were imprisoned till mid 2005 where they were released and finally set free.

This is a-must-see movie. It gives us a better understanding about fighting terrorism, survival, lies & deceit, truths, religion and faith. I almost cried while watching this movie. Like one of them said that the world is not a good place. There are so many things that we are not aware of. We often believe in lies than the truths and this movie shows it all.

Go get the DVD. It's worth it!

Eagles - Hole In The World

There’s a hole in the world tonight.
There’s a cloud of fear and sorrow.
There’s a hole in the world tonight.
Don’t let there be a hole in the world tomorrow.

They say that anger is just love disappointed.
They say that love is just a state of mind.
But all this fighting over who is anointed,
Oh, how can people be so blind?

Oh, they tell me there’s a place over yonder

Cool water running through the burning sand.
Until we learn to love one another,
We will never reach the Promised Land.
